Prevent Policy
Prevent is the Government’s strategy to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism, in all its forms.
The Prevent Strategy is the response to the ideological challenge of terrorism and the threat from those who promote it; to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism and ensure that they are given appropriate advice and support
Policy Statement
The Edge works with a wide range of Government and private organisations that are potential targets for terrorism so we take our responsibilities to this matter seriously.
We have a very simple process in place to deal with any employee or clients concerns.
Our safeguarding leads are as follows:
- General Manager
- HR Manager
- Operations Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES OF EMPLOYEE
During regular training we remind employees of their responsibilities which include:
- To be aware of the policy
- To undertake periodic training with respect to Prevent agenda
- To make reports regarding any concerns or suspicious activity
- To ensure other staff are briefed and aware how to raise any issues or concerns
Terminology
Radicalisation is defined as the process by which people come to support terrorism and extremism and, in some cases to then participate in terrorist groups.
Extremism is vocal or active opposition to the fundamental British Values.
Fundamental British Values–these are commonly held values in society and include democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance.
