Exxon Mobil for Al Shafallah Centre Embrace Us

Al Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disability provides exemplary educational and rehabilitative services to people with mental disabilities and autism who are under 21 years old.

As in many countries, children with disabilities are often underrepresented. In Qatar they are doing a lot of work to change this and the Al Shafallah centre is spearheading this change. They teamed up with ExxonMobil with the aim of producing a film that promotes inclusiveness and understanding.

We had to convey the messaging of social acceptability of autistic and mentally challenged people living in Qatar. We did this by making the students and graduates of Shafallah Centre the heroes of the film as the spoken scripted lines directly to the audience. We targeted the Qatari people, as well as expats in a view of creating a ‘behaviour change’ within society, where autism and mental health are still challenging issues.

The film had a special screening at Al Shafallah Centre with distinguished guests. The main film ran at 60 seconds which allowed it to be used for TVC as well as on Instagram and Facebook.
